The King of Burgundy

Pinot Noir is a black grape variety that needs a cool to moderate climate to produce good quality grapes.  This thin-skinned variety is most commonly produced as a single-varietal wine.  Burgundy is the home of this grape but many other wine regions are also known for very good and outstanding Pinot Noir.

Characteristics:  Typically low to medium tannins, high acidity, red-fruit flavours (strawberry, raspberry, red cherry)
