“Rich, Complex, Powerful”
This "Montiano" from Lazio is considered by some to be one of the Italy's "finest" Merlots. The winery Falesco elaborates this famous red wine with the best merlot grapes from the 2015 vintage. Intense aromas of dark fruits like blackberry and ripe plum, red cherry, liquorice and sweet spices. On palate, the medium+ flavour intensity confirming the aromas and with additional notes of vanilla. This is a full bodied and powerful wine with silky tannin and long finish. Marvelous!

"Montiano is and always has been the Cotarella family piece de resistance. The 2015 Montiano (100% Merlot from Lazio) is a deep and richly textured wine with thick layers of dark fruit and sweet spice. The wine ages in Nevers and Troncais oak barriques for 12 months. The 2015 vintage was warm, and that extra heat adds to the power and the softness of the wine."
90 points, Wine Spectator, 2018
"Falesco is a famous Italian wine producer making wines in Lazio and Umbria. It is best known for its Montiano wine, a varietal Merlot labeled under the Lazio IGT designation, but makes a range of wines from around central Italy."
