Domaine des Sénéchaux Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2019

$398.00

Chateauneuf-Du-Pape, France

“Peach, Elegant, Silky”

A fantastic mix of aromas / flavours from this white Rhône blend producing something spectacular.  Pleasant nose of stone fruits (peach and nectarine), pineapple, honey suckle and mineral.  On palate, medium to full bodied, textured yet fleshy and elegant. The wine shows impeccable balance among fruits, floral and mineral / oaky notes.  It is a nice rare CdP Blanc.

“There's an artful harmony in this lusciously textured yet vibrant blend of Roussanne, Clairette and Grenache blanc (augmented by a small proportion of Bourboulenc). It's an ample wine with concentrated yellow apple and smoked hazelnut flavors lifted by streaks of underripe peach, lemon and lime. Lingering notes of chalk lend freshness to the finish. Approachable now yet likely to evolve well through 2030.”

A mix of Grenache Blanc and Roussanne and Clairette, and a small amount of Bourboulenc that was brought up in tank and a little bit in old barrels, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc covers a downright classy bouquet of ripe peach, melon, white flowers, and honeysuckle, to go with a medium to full-bodied, fleshy, textured style on the palate. It’s made in a richer style, yet it stays graceful and balanced, and weightless.”

“The Domaine des Sénéchaux lies in the heart of the mythical Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation and dates back to the XIV century.  It owes its name to the domaine’s key vineyards in the Bois Sénéchaux area.  The Cazes family, purchased the Domaine des Sénéchaux, 27 hectares, in 2006.  Today, the estate produces robust reds and fleshy, aromatic whites that reflect the rich characters of their respective terroirs.” – Importer’s note
