“Fruity, Balance, Flavourful”
This wine is dedicated to Philip Mazzei (1730-1816), an illustrious ancestor of the family, political thinker, American Patriot and pioneer, together with Thomas Jefferson, of the viticulture in Virginia. Made with a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon selected from our estates, Philip is the quintessence of Tuscany. Attractive aromas of violet, red cherries, blackcurrant, liquorice and cedar. On palate, well balancing red and black fruits flavour, medium+ acidity with polished tannin.

The history of the Mazzei family is closely linked to the political and cultural history of Tuscany. This family has a long lasting and strong bonding with wine since the XI century.
Today as in the past, the Mazzei family leads the legacy of their know-how at the place where everything started, at Castello di Fonterutoli, one of the most important institutions of Chianti Classico and Tuscany, with an outstanding history and a bright future ahead.
